Thermographic Imaging for Clinical Support

The thermographic imaging capabilities provide essential information to support the physiotherapist in assessing the patient’s condition and serve as a valuable tool for monitoring progress. Studies indicate that asymmetric temperature differences of around 0.3 to 0.6ºC between sides of the body can be associated with certain conditions. By highlighting these differences visually, Adamo Robot enhances the physiotherapist’s ability to adapt treatments based on the observed thermal changes. Additionally, Adamo Robot can heat or cool specific areas as part of the therapeutic approach.

There are two approaches to thermographic imaging:

Static Imaging

In this mode, the patient must be in conditions that do not influence the temperature of the area being studied, such as avoiding recent movement, exercise, or exposure to external thermal factors (e.g., room temperature, clothing). This type of study provides valuable information on thermal asymmetries, for instance, in cases of inflammation or radiculopathy, where temperature may be reduced. While certain musculoskeletal pathologies may exhibit non-thermal variables, Adamo Robot’s thermographic imaging aims to support physiotherapists by offering reliable visual data under consistent study conditions, helping them assess tissue state and monitor changes over time.

Dynamic

Thermography is used to check how much and how quickly a muscle becomes vascularized, and therefore heated, after a demand for physical activity. This will allow the therapist to know before an injury, or in its evolution, to propose the most appropriate treatment based on said information.
