Presentation of the new massage robot
Imagine a robot that gives therapeutic massages. The essence of this new medical advance is to improve access to physical therapy for people with chronic back pain. The EU-funded ADAMO Robot project is developing a robotic arm that provides precise therapeutic treatment by applying compressed air to a patient’s back. An artificial intelligence (AI) system can monitor the progress of the patient’s improvement in real time to determine the length of each session and the number of follow-up sessions needed. For example, the physiotherapists confirm the treatment in the first session and the robot reproduces the treatment plan automatically. All data is securely stored in a distributed cloud system, allowing full treatment tracking so patients can enjoy sessions anywhere in the world.
